Shirley's Hawaiian Stacation

As much as possible, I choose to be happy. So, one day, during the covid pandemic, I had a Hawaiian staycation on my porch. It was a lovely day.

About Me

‍ ‍My story goes way back, but as not to bore you, I’ll only share with you my dream to write novels. I have lots of start-stop novel ideas that I sketched on note pads, on loose sheets of paper, in journals (beautifully designed bound journals, I might add) all stored away in brown paper bags that are then stored away in a packing box.

One day, again, while rummaging through that box of brown bags and barely started novels, I turned away, looked in a mirror, and admitted to myself that I lacked the discipline needed to write a book. Life kept getting in the way, and I had let it.

On another day, or I should say years later, while searching the internet on a totally different topic, I came across a flash fiction story. I read several and thoroughly enjoyed them. I was hooked. I can write stories of 1500 words or less, I said to myself. Of course, it wasn’t as easy as I thought. It still requires discipline, but on a shorter timeframe. “Yes, I can” became my new mantra.

Many of my stories are nuggets from real events that I embellish and fictionalize, while other stories are totally made up. I hope you enjoy them.
